The Materials Test Laboratory of TABC provides the requirements for fire testing of building materials and components in Taiwan. We implement building regulations related to fire protection, performance testing of building materials and quality verification to improve fire safety in buildings and fire inspection technology. Also, we conduct research on testing methods, procedures, standards, and performance certification in expectation of reducing fire casualties and damage, maintaining public safety and improving the efficiency of fire protection equipment.

In response to the development of new materials, new technologies, and new construction methods, the accompanying testing, evaluation, and establishment of standards are long-term issues for the industry and the government. We expect to establish an integrated research institute and to assist the competent authorities in supervision to boost industrial development.
